If it truly won't come out in one piece — which happens more than you'd think with basement sofas — we can cut it down and remove it in sections.
The backsplit staircase problem
North York's backsplits and side-splits are great homes, but their half-flights and tight landings are where couches get stuck. Delivery crews often brought sofas in before railings were installed or walls were finished, which means the same couch may not leave the way it arrived. Before we pick anything up, we measure the landing and the doorway and plan the turn. If standing it on end, removing the feet or taking off a railing cap won't do it, we'll talk you through cutting it down. That way your walls, trim and banister come out of the job looking the same as they went in.

Couch removal is quoted on site, free. A two-seat loveseat on a main floor and a four-piece reclining sectional in a basement are very different jobs, so we price the actual couch you have.

Handling worn or damaged couches
Most couches can't be recycled whole, but we separate what we can. Metal pull-out frames and recliner mechanisms go to scrap metal recycling, and the rest is taken to licensed Toronto disposal facilities.
If a couch has been exposed to pests, let us know when you book. We'll wrap it before carrying it through your home or building to help keep hallways and elevators clean.

My couch was built inside the basement. Can you still remove it?
Yes. If it can't be turned or tilted out, we can cut it into sections and carry it out piece by piece. You don't have to do anything beforehand.
Do you remove recliners and sleeper sofas?
We do. Mechanisms make them heavier, but that's why we bring a full crew. Metal parts go to scrap recycling.
Can you take a sectional from a high-rise condo?
Yes. Book the service elevator with your building and tell us the time slot. We'll pad the elevator if the building requires it.
Will you take a couch with stains or tears?
Of course. Condition doesn't matter for removal. If you think it's worth donating, tell us and we'll set it aside.
Can I bundle my couch with other items?
Yes, and many people do. Adding a mattress, chairs or boxes to the same visit is simpler than booking several pickups.
