Why appliances need different handling
Appliances aren't all disposed of the same way. Fridges, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers contain refrigerants that must be recovered before the unit is scrapped, so they follow a separate process. Washers, dryers, stoves and dishwashers are mostly steel and go to scrap metal recycling.
We sort every load so each appliance ends up where it belongs, rather than in general waste.
